ARTICLE 1 – PURPOSES AND RESTRICTIONS
A. PURPOSE: Create a positive future for ATV recreation in Benzie County.
B. RESTRICTIONS: We do not condone dangerous/reckless riders who tarnish the reputation of our
sport, or any activity that violates the Benzie County ORV Ordinance.
ARTICLE 2 – OFFICERS
A. ELECTIONS: The officers shall be a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Officers shall be elected from the
membership by a show of hands unless a secret ballot is requested by any member. The officers shall be elected on the odd numbered years.
The nominations will take place at the July meeting. The elections will take place at the August meeting and the new officers will take office at the September meeting. The dismissal of an officer, the appointment of an officer to fill the place of one who has ceased for any reason
to be an officer may be made by the membership at any meeting. The four (4) officers shall be known as the executive officers.
B. TERM OF OFFICE: Each officer elected shall hold office for the term of two (2) years. Any officer may resign his/her office at any time.
Such resignation shall take effect upon the receipt of written notice to the membership unless otherwise specified as a latter date in the resignation. If the office of President becomes vacant, the Vice President shall become the President for the remainder of the term. If any
other office becomes vacant, the vacancy may be filled by the membership for the remainder of the term.
C. PRESIDENT: The President shall be the principal executive officer of the Association and shall generally perform all duties usually performed by Presidents of like organizations, including, but not limited to:
a. Preside at all meetings
b. Appoint committees and committee chairs
c. May call special meetings
d. Prepare, or delegate the preparation of meeting agendas
e. Be the associations chief spokesman
f. Act as chairman of the executive officers
g. Any other function assigned or authorized by the membership
D. VICE-PRESIDENT:The Vice-President, in the absence or inability of the President, shall have all powers and duties of the PRESIDENT.
E. SECRETARY: The secretary shall have the followingduties:
a. Cause to be maintained the minutes of all meetings of the membership.
b. Give, or see to the giving of, notice of all meetings of the membership.
c. Serve as a member of the distribution committee.
d. Any other function assigned or authorized by the membership.
F. TREASURER: The Treasurer shall have the following duties:
a. Have custody of the Association funds and securities.
b. Cause to be kept full and accurate accounts of receipts and disbursements in books belonging to the Association.
c. Deposit all money and other valuable effects in the name of the Association in such depositories as may be designated by the membership.
d. Render to the President and the membership on a periodic basis, established by the Association, an account of all transactions and of the financial conditions of the Association.
e. Any other function assigned or authorized by the membership.
ARTICLE 3 – MEETINGS
A. REGULAR MEETINGS: Meetings will be held the last Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Location of meetings will be set by the President. There will be no meeting held in November or December.
ARTICLE 4 – FUNDS
A. The Association will have a checking account known as the General Account. The Treasurer and President will be
authorized to sign checks out of the account. Only one signature will be required on the checks.
ARTICLE 5 –FISCAL YEAR
A. The fiscal year for the association will run from September 1, through August 31st.
B. Dues are due April 1st and are good through March 31st. There will be a thirty (30) day grace period.
